The Hills of Roxbury: 30 in 30

The thermometer says 18°F and the woodstove in the studio burns steadily, but maybe it wasn't a good idea to put in a log covered with fungi.  Feeling a bit woozy.  This is a painting I started on a plein air foray, and finished in the studio today.  It feels like there is a lot going on in it, that should be simplified.  At least I left out the cows!  There was a dead cow in the field, and all its brethren were gathered at one point around it, way up the field.  The farmer very kindly stopped by to say hello and let me know he would be removing, just so I would not be taken back when he did.  He was covered in Betadine.
