A Place with No Cares

Painting the Marshes of Glynn, photo by Jennifer Broadus 2012

I wish I could retreat to this place today, and do nothing but take in the views of the marsh, watch the changing tide, observe the scuttling crabs, floatsam, jetsam, not thinking about the children who died today in Sandy Hook.  Going to class this morning and coming home this afternoon after a fruitless day of applying paint to a canvas, I passed the Sandy Hook exit twice.  If I had only been able to stop the violence that occurred.  Peace and love to the survivors.
